BROOD is an innovative Canadian company that set out to develop an intuitive and smart ice-cold nitro dispensing technology that would revolutionize how people consume their favourite drinks. Over the last decade, the company has developed and trialed hundreds of prototype iterations before finalizing its breakthrough patent-pending technology.
For a variety of reasons, BROOD was looking to reduce its offshore manufacturing and repatriate the company’s innovation and development initiatives back to Canada. Pegmatis identified a number of challenges in this transition including the product’s hardware design not being optimized for assembly, the hardware design files requiring manufacturing and the company wanting to integrate a higher level of future connectivity, telemetry and self-payment into their made-in-Canada product.
Pegmatis engaged with BROOD to understand their product’s design and provide them with a reasonable path forward and cost estimate to repatriate all aspects of their design. We also reviewed the direction suggestions to allow BROOD to successfully prepare the design with a future connectivity road map.
Through our involvement, BROOD has successfully repatriated the full manufacturing and assembly of their product to Canada. We have also identified a clear path forward for their product road map in terms of connectivity. Thanks to our successful collaboration, BROOD has pledged to continue using Pegmatis in the future to support them in product development, plus all software and hardware innovation.
